George Westergard Elementary School was established in 1989 in Northwest Reno, Nevada.  Our school is situated on a hill with beautiful views of the Sierra Nevada and Peavine Mountains.  The school is named for George Westergard, a wonderful man who touched many lives during his 30 years as an educator and principal. 

Our goal at Westergard is to provide a safe learning environment conducive to meeting the academic, social, physical and emotional needs of every child.  Our staff is dedicated to providing a positive and supportive learning environment where every student can succeed.

Westergard serves students from Kindergarten through 5th Grade.    Effective the 2007-2008 school year, the 6th Graders will be at Billinghurst Middle School.  Our school's mascot is the Westergard Wildcat, and the school colors are blue and white.
